Delayed 3D release of Ra.One? - Latest Bollywood News

RA.ONE is the most-awaited movie right now and everything pertaining to the film is making news these days. While the makers are working round-the-clock to ensure that the film hits the screens on Wednesday, 26 October, a section of the media has reported that the 3D version of the film will arrive a week later, i.e. on 4 November. Meaning, the film will have a global release, as per schedule, on 26 October, but since the 3D conversion is taking time, the film will be released in the 3D version a week later.

Anubhav Sinha, the director of the biggie, laughs aloud when I pose this question. "No way! The 3D version is also releasing on 26 October. We are working day and night to ensure that we deliver on time. Shah Rukh has had a serious discussion with the team and we are confident that the film will be released in 3D simultaneously. There's no delay at all." Sunil Lulla of Eros too rubbishes the rumors. "We will definitely meet the deadline of Diwali. Yes, RA.ONE is arriving in all its glory in 3D on 26 October," he sets the record straight. That should put the rum, ors to rest!

Her earlier films '3 Idiots', 'Golmaal 3' and 'Bodyguard' grossed more than Rs 100 crores and 'Ra.One' might become Kareena's fourth film to break the box office record, making her the only actor in the history of Indian cinema to achieve this feat.

"It is a wonderful stint to be a part of. To have suchgreat successes like '3 Idiots', 'Golmaal 3' and 'Bodyguard' with Aamir, Ajay and Salman is a wonderful thing. Now with Shahrukh, I am looking forward to 'Ra. One'.

"I keep hearing all such fantabulous box office figures every now and then. If 'Ra.One' indeed manages to do as well as predicted, then nothing better than that. My films are competing with my own films and that is a great feeling,"Kareena told PTI.

'Bodyguard' netted over 100 crores in it's extended first week and 'Ra.One' may break the record with a much bigger release on the extended weekend of Diwali. With such commercial successes in her kitty, Kareena, 31,is well aware of the number game in Bollywood and says the commercial viability of a star is important.

"In this industry you are as good as your last film. Eventually it is all about the commercial viability of the stars. Bollywood is about entertainment; this is what sells here and we can't change that. In fact we must not try to change that and balance it all." (PTI)

Humaima Malik on new heights!

After giving an outstanding performance in her debut film ‘Bol’, model-turned-actress is ready to explore new heights in Bollywood.
The actress, who recently took part in Bridal Asia 2011, is currently in India and meeting directors and producers to grab decent Bollywood Projects.
However, the actress has totally made it clear she won’t do any item song at the stage of her career, but is really much interested in doing some reasonable Bollywood project.
We wish Humaima all the best for her Bollywood dreams and I hope she won’t turn out to be the next Veena Malik.

Veena Malik Steps for Noble Cause in India

After facing so many controversies, Pakistani actress Veena Malik has decided to do something noble. Veena Malik will sponsor the education and daily needs of an Indian child.

Though this noble gesture of Veena Malik is admirable but is again disappointing for Pakistani children…

I love bikes, but not more than women: John

By Hindustan Times
John Abraham, who was recently in the capital for Van Heusen store launch, revealed all about his relationship status, chiselled body and of course his love for motorbikes and women.
John's action hero avatar
After Dhoom, I haven't done any action film. People asked me why you haven't attempted any action film when you have the physique and the body for it. Force is my answer to a lot of people out there who finally want to see the action hero. The film has great content, song, dialogues and screenplay.

Beefed up avatar
I have undertaken special training for this film. When we finalised the film, my director Nishikanth Kamath told me you have 8 months to build up a body that looks international, like a machine, like Sylvester Stallone. So with Force, we have tried to create a look that is unbelievable in terms of physique.

Every actor is visually fit today and has a presentable body. Cinema is a visual medium. I have always been fit, right from my first film Jism. Now there is a new concept of abs- 6 pack, 8 pack.
Similarity with original
When Vipul Shah showed me Kaakha Kaakha one-and-a-half years back, I really liked it. There's a lot of difference in this and the original. We have kept the romance portion same but we have converted it into an action film to a large extent.

Lifting a heavy bike
It was just a 110-120 kilos bike very honestly. ACP Yashwardhan is supposed to be like a machine, very powerful who can lift and break anything. That's my character in the film. That's why I had to lift the bike. You need cables to balance it but finally you need your strength to lift the bike and throw it. So yeah, I have thrown the bike. If someone upsets me, you know what will happen (laughs).

Message in Force
There's a lot of similarity between me and my character. He's a narcotic bureau officer, totally anti-drugs. Personally, I don't believe in drugs. People who do drugs are escapists. I want to tell my young audience that drugs are the most dangerous thing, more than smoking and drinking. Cocaine destroys your system completely. That's the message we want to give to through the film.

Your body is your temple. Eat right, work-out right. Don't do drugs. It's not fun, it's not right. A healthy lifestyle is very important.
Chemistry with co-stars
My chemistry with all my co-stars, be it Genelia (Force), Katrina (New York) or Vidya (Salaam-e-ishq), usually works onscreen. I have a sizzling chemistry with Abhishek Bachchan and Akshay Kumar also. Good chemistry is important for a good film.

Cop fever in B-Town
It's co-incidental that we are all playing cops in our films. A film is planned a long time back, so it's just a co-incidence that these films are releasing one after the other. Salman and Ajay's films have done unbelievable business and I hope that I can do at least decent business.

Movies in the pipeline
After Force, I'm doing a comic flick with Akshay- Desi Boyz (6 years after Garam Masala), Housefull 2 with Akshay again, Race 2 with Saif, another sequel Shootout at Wadala and I, Me Aur Main which is about a guy who loves himself more that he loves women. But I am not like that character.
Bikes or ladies
I love motorcycles but not more than women (laughs). Women are the most beautiful creation of mankind.
Enjoying singledom
I am happy that I have time by myself. When I get married, it'll be different. Hopefully I'll get married someday. Till then, I'm enjoying my space and time.
After I got into acting, I have not spent enough time with my parents. When we get busy with our careers or get into relationships, we don't give our parents enough time. So now I'm spending as much time with my parents as possible to make up for the lost time but you can never make up for it.
Every relationship in your life matures you as an individual. So now I'm a much more matured individual.
On terror attacks
If we look within our own country, there's a big terror problem. It happened in Delhi recently and in Mumbai before that. I hope the government is doing what they can. There are serious security lapses. The common man suffers the most. We have become insensitive to what is happening. We need to get serious about it and the government needs to pull up their socks. As individuals, we need to be serious and vigilant and look around. If you notice, after 9/11, there has been no attack in America. Can you imagine the level of security they have. Government and we as citizens should be more complacent.
On Van Heusen
When V Dot came to me, they knew what my personal statement is. The colours I'm wearing now, gray trousers and blue jacket, it's very understated and yet it makes a style statement. There have absolutely simple designs, some are bling but still they are very classy. I'm actually comfortable in what I'm wearing. And I wouldn't say that for a lot of other clothes and what other people wear. My whole wardrobe is by them.

Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Movie Sequel to Release In August 2012

Akshay Kumar hasn’t shot a single day for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 so far but the makers have plans to bring this underworld gaga right on schedule next Independence day weekend. Though there have been speculations around whether this is a wishful thinking or indeed a definite possibility, courtesy quite a few other assignments that he is currently engaged on, those close to Ekta Kapoor and Milan Luthria claim that the producer and the director are happily chanting the call of ‘all is well’.

“Both are currently busy on wrapping up The Dirty Picture but as soon as the film’s release is through, they would go heads down on kick-starting Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2. There is no need for anyone to panic because things are going entirely as per the plans”, says a source close to the duo, “In fact as we talk, the final version of the film’s script is being locked and a parallel hero (to Akshay) is being finalised. More than anyone else, Akshay is most excited about beginning work on the film. He is convinced that this is the one huge clutter-breaking film in his line-up.”

The speculations around the arrival time period of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 began when the release timing for Akshay’s another action entertainer Rowdy Rathore was announced last week. As the film would arrive in June while Akshay’s other film Housefull 2 has been pre-poned to April next year, many wondered if it would be too much too soon for Akshay to bring yet another film in August 2012.

“Akshay works quite fast on his films,” says a close associate of Akshay. “His films typically take 50-70 days to complete and Milan’s film won’t be any different. In fact what is also helping the makers further is the fact that the crew of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 as well as The Dirty Picture is nearly the same. This means that from a continuity perspective, everyone involved has to move from one film to another.”

This is exactly what’s allowing Milan to breathe easy as well. Though he is now going through reverse counting for the 2nd December release for his Vidya Balan-Emraan Hashmi starrer The Dirty Picture, the Balaji team is working simultaneously on the pre-production of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai so that there is a hassle-free beginning for one of the most keenly awaited sequels next year.

When contacted, Milan dismissed rumours surrounding the film and confirmed that it would indeed make it for 17th August release next year. “I always wanted to make films back to back to back without waste any time. Guess this time around all seems to be going as per plans. We have all dates blocked for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, start shooting next February and wrap it by April in more or less a single schedule. All is well”, he chuckles before signing off.

Jagjit Singh Indian music maestro dies at 70

Indian musician and composer Jagjit Singh, who won generations of fans by reviving the traditional genre of "ghazal" tunes, died on Monday in Mumbai at the age of 70, hospital officials said.
Singh, dubbed "The Ghazal King", had been in intensive care for three weeks after undergoing surgery when he fell seriously ill with a brain haemorrhage.
Ghazals are a poetic form of singing that originated in the Middle East and spread to India from the 12th century.
They were traditionally reserved for the elite, but Singh popularised the form in the 1970s and 1980s by pioneering a modern ghazal sound and using Western instruments alongside Indian classical ones.
"Unfortunately, he expired this morning," said Mohan Rajan, spokesman for the private Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai.
As well as spreading the appeal of ghazal in India, Singh sang and composed for Bollywood, the Hindi-language film industry.
Singh will be best remembered for his music in the films "Prem Geet" (Love Song) in 1981 and "Arth" (Meaning) the following year.
He last sang in the low-budget film "Khushiyaan" (Happiness), which is due in cinemas on Friday.
Jagjit Singh was born to a poor family in the north Indian state of Rajasthan on February 8, 1941.
He took to singing at an early age and like millions of other migrants, travelled to Mumbai, then known as Bombay, to make his fortune.
After initial struggles singing advertising jingles and performing at parties, he found a foothold in regional-language and Bollywood cinema, going on to form a successful duo with his wife Chitra in the 1970s and 80s.
When Singh was taken to hospital on September 23, he had been about to sing at a concert in Mumbai with Pakistani ghazal legend Ghulam Ali.

To kiss or not to kiss: Ali Zafar can't make up his mind - Latest Bollywood News

Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar, who has just delivered his second consecutive hit 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' after 'Tere Bin Laden', is being plagued by the to-kiss-or-not-to-kiss dilemma in films.
Zafar, 31, is now set to star in romantic comedy 'London Paris New York' and is said to have several kissing scenes with co-star Aditi Rao Hydari.
Speaking to reporters in India, Zafar indicated he was fine with kissing scenes.

"My wife has no issues with it," Zafar was quoted as saying by the Indian media.
However, soon after Zafar's publicist in Pakistan Ammara Hikmat clarified to The Express Tribune, "By intimate, Ali didn t mean obscene scenes... By intimate he means it is a cozy and romantic film."
Hikmat claimed Zafar was joking at the press conference in India when he said, "Well I do make sure as soon as I wake up I brush my teeth because I’d be doing very intimate scenes."
"He believes that everyone has the right to express their own freedom of speech and action in reasonably defined parameters. He tries his best to keep general values of his home country in mind and work in a way where he can fulfil his professional obligations and not disappoint his fans at the same time. We have witnessed his choices to do this and make us proud," Hikmat clarified
Earlier, Pakistani actress Meera was threatened by radical elements after she had a controversial kissing scene in filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's 'Nazar' five years ago.
More recently, Veena Malik, who was part of popular Indian reality TV show 'Bigg Boss', had her share of troubles on her return to Pakistan with several clerics accusing her of having no character and of bringing a bad name to the country.

Kareena picks Aamir over Shah Rukh - Latest Bollywood News

Kareena Kapoor, better known of late as the 'Khan Queen', finds herself in an awkward situation thanks to that very celebrated title. The dates of the Toronto premiere of RA.One with Shah Rukh Khan and the shooting schedule of Reema Katgi's Dhuaan with Aamir Khan are apparently clashing.

Not surprisingly Bebo has chosen Mr Perfectionist, whom she has been raving about ever since their blockbuster film 3 Idiots, over 'G One'. A source, however, defends her decision of choosing Aamir over SRK.

"Kareena has to take some special training for an underwater sequence in the film and she needs time for that too. So going for the premiere is out of the question."

The shoot sequence in question was supposed to be shot in the outskirts of Mumbai. It was cancelled last minute due to certain technical issues.

Now, apparently, the location for the shoot has been finally finalised. Since it's one of the last few scenes to be shot, it cannot be delayed again.

Adds the source, "Kareena plays the female lead and SRK obviously wants her around as much as possible. She is trying her best to attend the Dubai and London premieres because she does not want to miss the international premieres of her film."

However, she has not been able to work around her dates for the third global premiere.

"This film is obviously her biggest this year, and she definitely wants to be a part of all promotional events. It's just unfortunate that the premiere is now clashing with the shoot dates of Dhuaan."

The actress will be shooting for Dhuaan on October 26, and hence will not be part of the premiere in Toronto or any other promotional activity on that day for the Shah Rukh-starrer.

'Jannat 2': Emraan-Esha in illegal arms trade - Latest Bollywood News

If there is one banner which knows the art of minting money at the box office in any circumstances, it's Vishesh Films, under the guidance of master producer Mahesh Bhatt.
The champion of low budget thrillers has started the shooting of 'Jannat 2', a sequel to Vishesh Films’ 2008 hit 'Jannat'.
The previous film was directed by Kunal Deshmukh and had Emraan Hashmi and sultry Sonal Chauhan as the lead pair.

The fast paced match fixing story coupled with melodious music led to the commercial success of 'Jannat'.
Previously named as 'Informer', the film is thematically similar to the prequel. 'Jannat 2' is also a story about a single man's immense desire to make it big in life by any means. Arjun Dixit, the character played by Emraan Hashmi in 'Jannat', was a small time gambler turned into a big shot bookie, while this time, 'Jannat 2' will have illegal arms trading in the background.
Known for presenting sexy sirens to the film fraternity, Vishesh Films this time is banking upon the looks of ex Miss India International winner Esha Gupta.
She will play the wife of Emraan Hashmi who has a knack for getting seriously intimate with wives on the silver screen, irrespective of the fact that whose wife is it.
The Bhatt camp had thought about the names of Prachi Desai and Bengali bombshell Paoli Dam too before finalising the ultimate cast but eventually the sensuality race was won by Esha Gupta.
If reports are to be believed than Mahesh Bhatt was backing Paoli Dam for the role while the director Kunal Deshmukh wanted to cast Esha.
The music department will be supervised by Pritam Chakraborty who always seems to be in hurry to come up with chart busters. Either Pritam always has enough material in his arsenal or he is simply brilliant at creating instant music.
The career of Randeep Hooda is also looking to gain momentum these days. Critical appreciation in 'Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster' has provided some life to his otherwise fading career. 'Jannat 2' will again feature him in a key role and portraying the role satisfactorily can earn him some more films.
Having Fox Star Studios as co-producers, 'Jannat 2' is bound to have a good promotional round as well as nice production values.
Thus a lot will depend on the director Kunal Deshmukh that how he uses the resources at disposal.
Deshmukh has impressed the audiences with his skills in 'Jannat' and 'Tum Mile' and thus movie enthusiasts will be hoping for another good show from him.
However, the film's highlight will primarily be the chemistry rather biological chemistry between Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta.

Ranbir Kapoor with international model on Vogue cover - Latest Bollywood News

Ranbir Kapoor

'A Private Affair' is exactly how the Vogue magazine's cover story reads like. And a million dollar prize for the million dollar cover that features the million dollar dude!

To start with, Ranbir 'CLEARS' the eternal question by saying that 'NO... I am not a womanizer. It's a perception that the media has created, because the pages needed to be filled. I have stopped caring. I am 28 years old and extremely heterosexual!" Talking about brand and fashion, he confesses, "I don't understand fashion, I don't understand brands. I have had some education on it through my mother and sister, but mostly, it's instinctive. I think that a woman looks best in a white shirt and jeans. She has to be wearing a personality with it." When asked about his so called much talked about alleged affair with Nargis Fakhri (his co star in Rockstar), he says "I work in a visual medium. And yes, the people with whom I work with are very good looking. I still believe in monogamy- at least physically. Emotionally, chances are one may stray. But it's not fair to the one you are with if you can't be faithful. I'd rather not be in a relationship-at the moment I am not. I am not looking for love right now. But it's not like I am this horny rabbit, either!"

And this one's for all the girls who wanted to know what this dude does in his free time. Well, get the answer straight from the horse's mouth. He says, "I play with my PS3. Or I will be watching movies. I am a night owl. I feel like life is passing by me when I sleep early. So, I stay up late, then, I wake up late, laze around, vegetate basically, I don't really party any more, I exhausted that when I was studying in New York."

To know more about such confessions, check out the Vogue that features the Gen Next Superstar Ranbir Kapoor with the international model Isabelli Fontana (we were sure you would have killed us if we did not reveal her name)!

Mystery surrounds Ra One Toronto Premiere - Latest Bollywood News

The year’s biggest release - Ra One, The biggest stars in Bollywood - Shahrukh Khan and Kapoor, The biggest question on everyone’s mind - Is it or Isn’t it?

If you are amongst the many wondering, Will Shahrukh and Kareena’s superhero Diwali bonanza be coming to Toronto for its big premiere? The answer so far is possibly.

Social networking sites have been a buzz for weeks now with Toronto being rumoured to one of be venues for the film’s world premieres across the globe along with London and Dubai - however with just under three weeks to go, no affirmative confirmation has as of yet been made for a Premiere in Toronto.

From what we know so far, Oct 26 appears to be the likely date for a premiere in Toronto.

The festive period of Diwali is one for family, friends, fun and frolic and with umpteen events happening all across the city, the premiere if announced or confirmed last minute will surely face some serious competition to find space amongst an already crowded festival calendar. Proper planning and due notice are a must during this busy season as haphazardness will only lead to chaos and confusion.

From a purely commercial standpoint - the limited time for promotion, marketing and media coverage could severely constraint its outreach perhaps making it a losing proposition for those involved.

Also Shahrukh has been on a promotional overdrive for Ra One with events almost everyday in Mumbai for the film’s promotions leading to a certain case of overexposure for the King Khan, not that anyone is complaining but it is something to be considered.

The premiere of a Diwali Bonanza like Ra One with Shahrukh Khan as G-One should be the grandest spectacle Toronto has ever seen as the city deserves nothing but the biggest and the best.

Now, let’s hope things aren’t left to chance till the very last minute as even a superhero wouldn’t be able to save the day then.
